Join us for a Sunday afternoon of jazz music featuring virtuoso jazz vocalist Rahsaan Cruse Jr. and jazz pianist Robert Lepley.
Rahsaan Jamal Cruse Jr. (vocals) is an emerging jazz virtuoso born into a family with a rich musical heritage. As a young boy, Rahsaan's family cultivated his musical roots by exposing him to the gospel melodies of the church, the rhythmic beats of R&B, and the captivating harmonies of jazz. Rahsaan gave his first performance at a jazz hot spot when he was just twelve, an age long associated with musical prodigies. Now, a young man, Rahsaan is focused on the future and is in the midst of recording new music. He continues his career performing for his influences such as Steve Jordan, Davell Crawford, Kanye West, Wynton Marsalis, and more.
Robert Lepley (piano) is the founder of Grand Piano Studio. He started teaching and playing the piano professionally when he was fourteen years old, and brings many years of experience to his music students. While still in junior high school, he won scholarships in classical piano competitions and studied piano at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. He holds a master's degree with a focus in music composition. Mr. Lepley is also a well-known jazz pianist and has performed with some of the legendary big bands such as the Glen Miller and Bob Crosby Orchestras, and with contemporary jazz musicians such as Sonny Fortune, Eddie Daniels, and Billy Drewes.
